The Directions

I have completed a series of weavings that I call “The Directions”.

The colours come from teachings that I have received and as I explore their meanings, I have decided to create banners with my Saori weaving to represent each of the directions.

I have created four banners - one for the West (black), one for the South (white), one for the East (yellow) and one for the North (red). I know that many different traditions have different colours and meanings for the directions, but what I am doing is exploring those of my learning.
