With my finished blue yardage, I was thinking that I might make a jacket.

When I took it out to the studio to drape it on the dress form, try it this way and that, I wasn’t sure. It decided to be a top rather than a jacket.

I am so happy with it – it really feels like “me”!! It was the first time I have made long sleeves and I like how that worked out too. It will be a warm top with the wool, silk, silk fabric strips and the handspun wool in it – but also not too heavy as the warp is mainly cottons.

Oh it totally IS you! SO lovely!
I absolutely love it, Terri! It is going to look smashing on you
It will be equally at home with an evening skirt or blue jeans.
You are going to enjoy this top for years!
Thanks Tanya and Noreen
This is incredibly beautiful. Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous!
I’m planning on weaving the rest of my organic cotton warp into cloth that I can turn in to a piece of clothing. When I reach that point don’t be surprised to get some e-mails — I’m terrified of the cutting/sewing part!
Gabriella – that should be beautiful. The organic cotton is so lovely. I look forward to your explorations into sewing some SAORI-style clothing…
Love this, it looks like me too. The dangly bits add to it. I started weaving last year and want to use my knitting yarns to make clothes. So far I’ve made one top and I’m really pleased with it. My loom is a four shaft table one but I’ve been inspired by the pictures of Saori weaving and your site is eye candy – inspirational.
this is great. it is similar to one i have in progress now. i’m trying to decide how ‘funky’ to make it. yours is the perfect blend of funky -love the braids in the back- and elegant styling – simple neck opening that is easy to wear with minimal fuss. thanks for the inspiration!
terri, what size thread did you use for the warp thread? i love the colors. i’m wanting to make something along the same lines as this. im currenlty working on some yardage for a shirt. The main body is brown cotton with a strip of aqua every so often.
It IS you!! A perfect design for your blue weaving! – and vice versa . . .
Love the way you joined the back of the yoke with braiding!
Wow! High Saori fashion!!
Thanks all – I wore it this weekend and it feels so warm and comfortable – and yet light!
Happy Weaving,
Terri
Mark – the warp is a mix of yarns. This one was mainly cottons – 2/8, 4/8 and miscellaneous ones. I know this isn’t a lot of help. My set is usually 10 or 12 threads per inch.
Happy Weaving!
