The Directions - North (completed)

I have now finished the 4 Directions banners in the series. This one is North / Red.

North

North is elders, wisdom and also courage and endurance in facing the cold north winds…

North

North

Indeed - it is a strong colour.

Thank you both! Yes, the red is intense and it was an interesting experience for me to work with only reds (and shades thereof).

Your red banner is gorgeous Terri! The reds are so rich and vibrant … and the banner so stunning against the bark of the tree and surrounding greens. I look forward to see your four banners next to one another on my next visit. I see a uniqueness and symbolism for each of the colors, and then again as a unity - “The Directions”.

I love the banners, will you be creating a display to encompass all four?

Thanks everyone! I’m so glad that you are enjoying The Direction series.

I am going to be having the banners in an exhibit in Ladysmith, BC (on Vancouver Island) in August in an exhibit called “Current Threads” which is a group exhibit of the Vancouver Island chapter of the Surface Design Association. I will be putting them together into a 3-dimensional display for that and will take some photos and post them.

    Happy Weaving,
    Terri
