A big thank you to both Eiji-sensei and Kenzo-sensei and their families for welcoming us and hosting us and for their great generosity. We were very happy to be able to spend time with them…

… and other weavers at the studio.

Here are some photos of the Saori no Mori studio (photos of the Osaka/Nakatsu studio can be found on this post). Saori no Mori is where the Saori looms are manufactured and is also a beautiful studio …

…in the forest. Here’s Kenzo-sensei putting up a hammock.

We were able to spend some time with Misao-sensei and share a meal …

and to see her weaving (at 97!)…

Such an amazing opportunity - thank you again to all of the Jo family!
Happy Weaving,
Terri

Oh, how completely wonderful and wonder filled! I hope that Misao-sensei continues to flourish and that she will be weaving into her next century! May all of us live so long and well! What an inspiration she is!
I have to admit that I tried to count how many looms there were in the studio… I was awestruck to see so many Saori looms all in one place.
Bliss….

Yes indeed she is an inspiration and a wonderful person - and I felt so honoured to be able to share some time with her.
Many, many looms indeed…….amazing!
