Gibson’s Landing Fibre Festival and A Community Peace Banner

This past weekend was the Gibson’s Landing Fibre Festival another fabulous fibre event – with great classes, vendors, demos and many many Fibre People in a beautiful setting (even if it did rain on Sunday!).

Gibson\'s Landing

I was there with my SAORI loom and a blues & greens warp for the Earth & Sky & Water to create a Community Peace Banner for the new Recreation Centre.

Last year’s banner was on display at the High School – “Fibre Central”…

Down in the landing there were tents with many artisans, a Farmer’s Market on Sunday, music, water, boats and a bandshell tent with hands-on demos.

This year there were 75 people who added threads of peace to the community banner.

It should brighten up the gray walls of the Recreation Centre in Gibsons and remind people of the festival and peace….

I’d sure like to go to the festival someday. I just wish it wasn’t at the height of tourist season when all the hotels are $$$$!! Thanks for sharing!

What a wonderful venue for weaving your latest peace banner.
Using a warp of blues & greens for the Earth, Sky & Water to create another peace banner for the Gibson’s Landing community is so inspired!
    Beautiful pictures too.

    Peace and Love,

Great setting for a Fibre Fest – and the weaving of another peace banner! Nice that your DS was there to help ‘model’ the banner!

Yes, Gibson’s is a great little town. We found a coffee shop that had wonderful fresh muffins every morning and of course it became a favourite hang-out for my ds (when he wasn’t helping with set-up, etc.).

    Happy Weaving,
    Terri
