Earth Day Celebrations on Salt Spring Island

Peace Works! invites the whole community to an Earth Day Celebration in Song.

Come and lend your voice to SSI’s Earth Day Choir. Sunday, April 20 in the Multi-Purpose Room of the Gulf Islands Secondary School in Ganges, 1:30 - 2:30 pm.

Peace Works! requests that all participants bring along a pebble they’ve chosen.

Pebbles

These pebbles symbolize our connection and commitment to Earth and each other as we endeavor to restore and repair the planet. We will be led in song by Barbara Slater, Bruce Rudell and Tuned Air, Sue Newman, Women of Note and others.

Terri Bibby will be there with her loom and peace banner from 1:00 - 3:00 pm - stop by and weave for Earth Day Peace.

Let’s Celebrate!

Happy Weaving,
Terri

I just received a Google Alert (re salt Spring Island) about your posting today! Love the pictures!!!!

It’s wonderful that you will be involving people in weaving a peace banner again - I also like the idea of bringing a specially chosen pebble for the Earth Day celebration.

    Peace and love,
    Petra

    Thanks so much Petra!!

I think that this banner will be an ‘Earth-based’ Peace Banner - something like the Climate Change Action Day one with a base of blues & greens…..

    Happy Earth Day,
    Terri
